News

Want to include lists of news articles on your site? Our News module allows you to add a custom post type to your site exclusively for publishing news items. You can then output the news articles on your site with the flexible shortcode system.

How to Add News?

Click the Add News button to add news. The Add New News screen appears. This is the page where you can add news to your website.

  • Select a Published On date. This is the date on which the news is published.
  • Enter the title of your news story in the Headline field. This indicates the nature of the {singular_module}.
  • A slug is the part of a URL which identifies a particular page on a website in an easy to read form. In other words, it's the part of the URL that explains the page's content. This is an optional field. The application automatically generates a slug from a {singular_module}'s title/name.
  • The Hits field displays the number of views on this news. Modify this field value to reset the view counter.
  • Enter detailed information in the Story field. Use the HTML editor to format the content of your story.
  • Enter Keywords in a comma-separated format. These are the tags that you think your customers will use when searching for specific news.
  • Enter a Meta Title. The title is displayed on a web browser tab and tells visitors what page they are on. This is an optional field.
  • Enter a snippet of up to about 160 characters in the Meta Description field. In other words, this is the summary of your page content. Search engines show the Meta Description in search results.
  • Enter Meta Keywords. They are a specific type of meta tag that appears in the HTML code of your Web page and tell search engines what the topic of the page is.
  • Check the Status checkbox and click the Save button.

How to Edit News?

To edit news that already exists on your site, go to Content->News in your site Admin dashboard. Click on the Headline of the news you want to edit in the list provided. If your list spans several pages, you can click through each page or enter your news's title in the search box.

How to Delete News?

Visit Content->News page. From here you can click on the bulk select box on top to select all news displayed on the page. If you don’t want to delete all of the selected news, then you can now go ahead and uncheck that news. Otherwise, scroll down to the footer and click on the Delete button to delete all news.
